Terms of Service

Last updated: July 23, 2026

These terms cover your purchase and use of Scoreboard Social (“SBS”), a live sports prediction game operated by JE Star LLC d/b/a Scoreboard Social (“we,” “us”). When you buy a game or season package through our website, you’re agreeing to these terms.

1) What you’re buying

You’re buying the right to run SBS at one venue location for the games in your package. Your purchase covers that location only. If you operate more than one location, each one needs its own purchase or a multi-location agreement with us.

You can’t resell, sublicense, or transfer your purchase to another business without our written OK. If you’re a trivia company, entertainment provider, or reseller, these terms don’t apply to you — contact us for a partner agreement.

2) How it works

We give you a QR code to your Venue Page. Your guests scan the code on their phones and play. There’s no app to download, no equipment to install, and no host required.

Running the game at your venue is up to you, including promoting it, announcing it, and displaying the QR code or leaderboard if you choose to.

3) Playing is always free

Guests never pay to play, and you can’t require a purchase to enter. No drink minimum, no cover charge, no “must buy something to scan.” Entry has to be open to anyone in your venue.

This isn’t optional. It’s what keeps SBS a free prediction game rather than something regulated as gambling. If you condition entry on a purchase, we can shut off your access immediately with no refund.

4) Prizes are yours

Prizes are entirely your call; whether to give any, what they are, and who gets them. We don’t fund prizes, choose them, or hand them out, and we’re not a sponsor of anything you offer.

You’re responsible for making sure your prizes are legal where you are. That includes your liquor license rules. Some states limit giving away alcohol or drink credit as a contest prize. Check before you offer a bar tab.

5) Using team and league names

SBS shows team and school names so players know what they’re predicting. We don’t use league or team logos or color schemes, and neither should you.

In your own signs, posts, and promotions:

  • Don’t use NFL, NCAA, team, or school logos

  • Don’t use team color schemes or trade dress

  • Don’t suggest SBS or your event is affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any league, team, or school

  • Don’t use protected event names like “Super Bowl,” “March Madness,” or “College Football Playoff”

Materials we provide already follow these rules. If you make your own, they need to too. We can pull your access if you don’t.

6) Refunds

Single game purchases: All sales are final. No refunds once purchased.

Season packages: If it isn’t working for your venue, you can cancel for a partial refund of what you paid:

Cancel on or before October 15 — 65% refunded
Cancel on or before November 15 — 30% refunded
After November 15 — no refund

  • The refund depends only on when you cancel, not on how many games you ran. If you buy a package and don’t use it, the same schedule applies.

  • Cancellation takes effect when we receive your email, and your access ends at that point.

  • These dates apply to the 2026 football season

To cancel, email info@playscoreboardsocial.com on or before November 15. We’ll refund to your original payment method within 10 business days.

Multi-location and partner purchases: If you bought through a signed agreement with us rather than our website, the refund terms in that agreement apply instead of this section.

7) Postponed or cancelled games

If a league postpones a game, your game moves with it automatically. You can run the new date at no extra cost.

If a game in cancelled outright and never rescheduled, we’ll swap it for another game of your choosing that season.

8) Your responsibilities

  • Keep your account and game links to your own venue

  • Don’t share or publicly post links in a way that lets other businesses run your games

  • Follow all laws that apply to your venue, including liquor, promotion, and contest rules

  • Don’t try to break, copy, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform

9) Player information

Scanning the QR code and playing requires no personal information. Players can join and play without giving us anything.

Players may choose to create an account, which asks for name and email. This is optional and entirely up to the player.

Venues can request player email addresses. If you ask, we may share the name and email address of players who created accounts while playing at your venue. If you receive player emails, you agree to:

  • Use them only for your own marketing, not resell or transfer them

  • Follow all email marketing laws, including CAN-SPAM

  • Include a working unsubscribe link and honor opt-outs promptly

  • Keep the list secure and delete it if we ask you to

You’re responsible for how you use player emails, and you agree to cover us for any claim arising from your use of them.

We don’t sell player information.

10) Service availability

We work to keep SBS running during games, but we don’t guarantee it will be available or error-free at all times. Phones, wifi, cell service, and the internet in general are outside our control.

If a technical problem on our end prevents a game from running at all, contact us and we’ll credit you for that game.

11) Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • SBS is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.

  • We’re not liable for lost business, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages.

  • Our total liability to you for anything related to these terms is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited.

12) Ending your access

You can stop using SBS any time — refunds work as described in Section 6.

We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, and in that case you’re not entitled to a refund. We can also stop offering SBS generally, in which case we’ll refund the unused portion of your package.

13) Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a meaningful change, we’ll post the new version here with an updated date. Changes don’t apply retroactively to a package you already bought — the terms in effect when you purchased govern that purchase.

14) Legal odds and ends

  • Governing law: These terms are governed by Minnesota law, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Hennepin County, Minnesota.

  • Whole agreement: These terms plus your order are the complete agreement between us on this subject. If you’ve signed a separate agreement with us (a multi-location, reseller, or partner agreement) that agreement controls wherever it conflicts with these terms.

  • Severability: If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.

  • No waiver: If we don’t enforce something right away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it later.
